Temporary Fence Panel: An Overview

Published

on

When permanent fencing is not possible, a temporary fence panel is used.  Most times, this fence is used to enclose parking lots and building sites. It is also used in outdoor events, and emergency or disaster assistance locations

When an area needs barriers for crowd control, public safety or security, theft deterrence, or equipment storage, temporary fencing is utilized.  The visibility of the fencing has a major role in how effective it is; the more visible the fencing is, the more likely it is to accomplish its objectives.  Due to its excellent visibility, night-reflective fencing powder-coated in the hue “caution yellow” has proven to be a popular design.

Physical Characteristics

The heavy-duty steel used to make the high-quality temporary fence panel will be galvanized after welding. The most effective, worker-friendly panels will have welded wire mesh measuring 2 inches by 4 inches. This design doesn’t have any jagged edges that could catch on objects when handling, loading, or unloading panels.

The people who will be moving the panels will also find it easier on their hands and fingers with the rectangular configuration. When compared to chain link fencing, which frequently has exposed wire or edges that make it harder to carry or handle, this kind of temporary fencing panel is usually thought to be a better option.

Comparably, the weight of the fencing panels should be such that one person can lift and erect the fencing with some ease. Currently, top providers make a perfect 37-pound panel. The lengthy lifespan of high-quality panels allows them to endure years of misuse in outdoor environments.

The Pallet Advantage

Temporary fencing panels work best when they can be carried and stored on self-contained pallets that have room for many panels. For instance, pallets of 28 panels are used to transport Perimeter Patrol temporary fencing panels.

Pallets remove the necessity for handling pallets one at a time. A forklift can put a pallet onto a truck with ease. The driver may then effortlessly unload the fence panels from the pallet when the vehicle gets to its destination. The time it takes to move fencing panels individually is significantly reduced by this method.

Pallets are a convenient way to store and carry fencing panels, making it possible to load and unload hundreds of feet of fencing quickly. Pallets also take up less room in storage and on the vehicle.

Loading, Unloading, and Set-Up

Pallets are loaded with a forklift onto pick-up or flatbed trucks. The cross-bars of a typical pallet will help the fencing panels stay securely in place. Additionally, pallets have a detachable hardware basket that holds the parts for the fence panels (bases, clamps, bolts, etc.). Fence panels come off the pallet with ease once they arrive at their location.

At that point, a single person could easily handle the fencing setup as well. All that is required is to remove the bases from the hardware basket and lay them out on the ground around the area’s boundaries. Installing the panels on the bases is a simple process. Two panels can fit onto one foundation, making the fence as a whole interlocking. Panel clamps also serve to fasten the tops of panels to one another.
